Art Spotlight: Enchanted Brazil

MY ARTISTIC PRACTICE IS BOTH A MANIFESTATION AND A DEEPLY GENUINE DESIRE TO EXPERIENCE WORLDS THAT DO NOT YET EXIST WITHIN OUR REALITY. As a Black Brazilian artist, I seek to celebrate bodies that look like mine by placing them within playful, mystical, and spiritually charged landscapes shaped by ancestral strength. Through my work, I imagine spaces where we can momentarily escape the histories of violence and limitation imposed upon us and reconnect with our inner power. I want people who look like me to remember that this sacred place exists within them—to never stop dreaming, imagining, and believing in positive possibilities for themselves and their communities. I express these ideas through surrealism, digital collage, and experimental image-making, including explorations with artificial intelligence. By blending memory, spirituality, folklore, and imagination, I create visual fabulations that invite viewers into alternative realities where Black existence is celebrated, expanded, and free.
