Tirrea Billings is an artivist, educator, and storyteller who believes the most powerful narratives come from communities directly affected by injustice. With a decade of experience leading communications for nonprofits and philanthropy, she centers communities systemically excluded from mainstream conversations about power and change. Through her platform, philanthropy unfiltered, she writes candidly about contradictions within the nonprofit industrial complex, creating space for practitioners to imagine more liberatory approaches to social justice work that shift resources, attention, and power toward communities building a more just world. She holds a B.A. in Film/Video/Media Studies and an M.A. in Communication from Western Michigan University.
