
Nahshon Dion is an African American Lousiana Creole, award-winning nonfiction writer, photographer, emerging filmmaker, event planner, fundraiser, and arts advocate from Altadena, CA, based in the Bronx. With over thirty years of experience in the entertainment industry, she has worked behind the scenes and as a SAG-AFTRA actor. A gun violence survivor and victims advocate, her writing explores identity, trauma, and resilience. In response to the 2025 Altadena fires, she serves on the Altadena Community Land Trust Committee and is producing a documentary, curating an anthology, and writing a memoir. Outside of her creative work, documentary active in community organizing. Her work has earned nationwide honors, including a New York State Council on the Arts grant and an Intercultural Leadership Institute (ILI) Fellowship.Nahshon Dion’s contributions to California, through acts of kindness and generosity, have made it is a better place to live, work, and thrive.
