JovVanTa Mason, Mason, MSEd, MA is an emerging scholar dedicated to the cultivation, critique, and celebration of Black heritage and culture. His research and teaching interests include 20 th -century African American history, the long civil rights movement, African American education, Black political and social movements, and Pan-Africanism. JovVanTa holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Master of Science in Educational Administration, both from Prairie View A&M University, a Master of Arts in History from Sam Houston State University and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Higher Education at the University of Southern Mississippi. JovVanTa currently serves as an Adjunct History Professor at Collin College in Texas.
