Francis Annagu is a freelance journalist and researcher who works around environmental politics, extractivism, and knowledge systems in Africa. His writings about how land, ecology, and Indigenous people are shaped through storytelling, data, and current public discourses. He has collaborated with international research teams at Curatorial Research LAB and Co-iki from Japan on projects engaging ecology, botany, and experimental knowledge production. He's a fellow of Dataphyte Foundation, Tiger Eye Foundation and Code for Africa/Global Forest Watch, and a grantee of the Pulitzer Center, the Rainforest Journalism Fund, and the Africa-China Reporting Project. He holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science from Kaduna State University. His pieces can be found in Rewilding Magazine, Crushing Colonialism, The Canada Files, Independent Australia, Taiwan Policy Center, Global Taiwan Institute, and elsewhere.
